Easier to Hide

Easier-To-Hide-ArtworkI am Me’s first steps into the music world is a 4 song production that pretty much define Maya Jane Coles much loved sound. While one could call the EP archetypical MJC you cant help but notice the growth and maturity in her sound. The confidence in her vocals drives the music to a particularly refined and very suave place. One could call this one of her most polished soundscapes yet.

It’s great to see how much deeper her music has gotten. Based on a single hypnotic guitar riff Over works you into a mellow daze. Working its way into Back to Square One, the song with almost lazy time signature reminds you of Senseless: one of her first experiments with her vocals. While this isn’t music you would play on a dance floor the phrase “Turn On, Tune In, Drop Out” comes to mind. Here’s to hoping we will here more of her much loved sound soonish.
